answers to these questions:
- What new method of killing started in June of 1941? By June of
1942, how many people had been killed in this way?
- How many Jews from Odessa, Russia are shot in October of 1941?
- In July of 1942, how may gas chambers are running at Treblinka?
How many people does each chamber hold?
- In September of 1942, how are bodies disposed of at Auschwitz?

Discussion Questions
- Some have said the Nazis lost the war because of their obsession
with murdering Jews. What do they mean by that?
- The Nazis called their murders "exterminations," does
that make it seem more or less horrible to you? Explain.
- The Nazis kept careful records of their murders. Do you think that
meant they were proud of their actions? Why did they grow trees in
places where camps had been?
