Lesson Plan
Read about Germany before and during World War II and answer these
questions:
- Before the war, were Jews legally citizens of Germany?
- Did other Germans consider them fellow citizens?
- Why were Jews forced to move to ghettos?
- What were the Nuremberg Laws? When were they passed? What did
they mean for Jews?
- Was there a legal reason for sending Jews to concentration
camps? For taking their property? For extermination?
Assessment
Present your information and ideas in a written or oral report to
the class. Try to answer any questions they may have.
Discussion Questions
- When laws are unjust, should individuals have the right to resist?
- What are some examples of people who have resisted unjust laws
throughout history?
